Historic Preservation

Fort Halifax Chapter, NSDAR, promotes historic preservation in our locality by supporting Fort Halifax Park.   We also maintain the marker our chapter placed in 1919 to mark Benedict Arnold’s landing spot on the Quebec Expedition in 1775.

We also serve our communities by restoring cemeteries.  We work on resetting and cleaning the headstones, and the cemetery lot.
On this day we were at Goodwin Cemetery in Benton, Maine,
and Stratton Cemetery in Winslow, Maine.
