Becoming a DAR Member

Do you have a Revolutionary War Patriot in your family tree?

Over two hundred and forty years ago, American Patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes for the freedoms we enjoy today. Your membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) honors and preserves the legacy of your Patriot ancestor. As a member of DAR, through participation in the Society’s various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.

With more than 120 years of tradition, over 930,000 members admitted since its founding, a vast array of service work, an historic National Headquarters building with extraordinary collections, and countless activities taking place locally, nationally, and globally, there is much to learn about the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Any woman is eligible for membership who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death. We have members ready to assist you in the application process. Are you between the ages of 18 and 36? Joining as a Junior brings many additional benefits!
