Meet the Patriots our Daughters honor.
Pictured: Dr. Foster Swift, who served as a surgeon’s mate on the State Brig “Hazzard” under Captain John Foster Williams. In 1780, while serving as a surgeon on a sloop-of-war under Captain Daniel McNeill, the ship was captured. The crew was taken to St. Lucie where they were kept captive for thirteen months before escaping in 1781.
